Yuanshan Zhixing releases China's first wheeled-legged guide robot 'Xiao Yuan'
A wheeled-legged guide robot called Xiao Yuan (小远), billed as China’s first of its kind, has been released for visually impaired users by Yuanshan Zhixing, a technology sub-brand under Hangzhou Zhiyuan Research Institute. The company says the robot handles obstacle avoidance, route guidance and voice interaction, and its outdoor obstacle-avoidance success rate is at least 96%. Yuanshan Zhixing has reached strategic cooperation with several disabled persons’ federations and is piloting the robot in Hangzhou’s Xihu District.
