X Square Robot releases TwinDEX, a wearable embodiment-free data collection system that trains dexterous manipulation from body-free data alone

X Square Robot has released TwinDEX, a wearable embodiment-free data collection system that pairs a wearable capture device with a matching robot end effector and includes data-processing and policy-training tools. Its core design is isomorphism between the collection and execution sides, so demonstrations are recorded without the robot’s own body.

The company demonstrated a three-finger, nine-degree-of-freedom dexterous hand (seven active DOF) completing a 24-sub-action chemistry experiment—opening a bottle to sample, using a dropper, and guiding liquid with a glass rod—in one continuous shot with no real-robot teleoperation. X Square Robot says policies trained on several hundred body-free demonstrations reached performance close to real-robot-data training across multiple tasks, replacing nearly 100% of real-robot data.
