Delta Intelligence releases Delta 0, a bipedal humanoid foundation model with a brain-cerebellum architecture
Delta Intelligence, a Beijing Institute for General Artificial Intelligence-incubated startup founded in January, has released Delta 0, a foundation model for bipedal humanoid robots. It uses a "brain-cerebellum" split, learning all 69 degrees of freedom—29 in the body and 40 in the hands—in one action space: the brain plans long-horizon tasks while the cerebellum is a learned whole-body controller. In the company's zero-shot tests, it recorded a global position error of 0.106 meters and a body-part error of 16.73 millimeters, ahead of NVIDIA's open-source SONIC and four other public controllers. The team also introduced D1, a head-mounted whole-body data-capture device, with a target of 100,000 hours of data by year-end.
